Is Water Flossing Better Than String Flossing?
Cleaning between your teeth is one of the most important parts of at-home oral hygiene but it’s often ignored. Are water flossers a better way to clean?
General dentistry, also known as preventive dentistry, includes a wide variety of services and treatments that are commonly used to improve and maintain one’s oral health. Preventative care encompasses more than regular check-ups and teeth cleanings, including emergency dentistry services, tooth fillings and dental sealants, mouth guards, pediatric dentistry, periodontal disease treatment (gum disease), and sleep apnea. Explore each option more below.
Keeping your mouth healthy and functional is important to keeping your mouth, and your smile, in the best optimal shape. We use procedures to prevent and correct any issues including dental crowns and bridges, dentures, dental implants, root canal treatment, wisdom teeth removal, tooth extractions, dental bone grafting, and metal braces.
If you are suffering from crooked teeth, misshapen teeth, misaligned teeth, excessive gaps, crowding or noticeable discoloration, cosmetic dentistry treatments can help. These procedures are specifically designed to improve your smile so you can confidently show your teeth to others. Cosmetic dentistry provides fast and effective results with minimal discomfort. Everyone is super polite, careful, knowledgeable, and professional. I've been going there for a few years now and have nothing but praises to offer. I'd you want a pain free, worry-free dental experience - this is the place to go! Thank you guys for all you do!
I am so very happy with my visits to Seneca ProSmile. Doctor Kuhns and his staff are very kind, friendly and professional! We drive an hour to get there and it is well worth the trip!
This place is the best dentistry you can find in DC metro area!
I had a great experience with Dr. Kuhns and his assistant Janet. They work well together and are extremely professional and efficient. I also had a cleaning with Malia, the hygienist, and she was extremely gentle. She even massaged my jaw and allowed me breaks, as my jaw doesn’t allow me to hold it open very long without pain. I would say Malia and Janet deserve a raise!! ??
The staff at the office are professional efficient and friendly. It’s always a pleasure to visit which is unusual to say about a dentist's office. Highly recommend.
I have been coming to this location for over 13 years when it was Dr. Nina Aks. I have received amazing service and care from everyone. Now I am seeing a new Dentist and his team I have so far received excellent service. My recent visit was with Dr. Taylor and her assistant LaToya. They were both very friendly and attentive. Of course, Berget, from the front desk is always super helpful. I’m glad she’s still there. There was a new addition to the room I was in, it was a TV with wonderful scenery scrolling through that made me feel like I was on vacation. It was very relaxing. Thank You all.
I really recommend Seneca ProSmile. The staff is very nice. Dr. Kuhns always explains everything about the procedure/ work being done and what to expect once you leave the doctors office. This place is very clean and neat.
Dr. Kuhns and his staff were very professional and made me feel very comfortable during my entire visit. They explained everything to me in a way that was easy to understand and I feel like they truly cared about me and weren’t just trying to get my money. Switching doctors, let alone dentists, is never an easy thing to do but they made me feel right at home. I highly recommend Dr. Kuhns for any dental needs. I will be sure to bring my family and kids here.
I had a tooth extracted yesterday by the magical hands of Dr kuhns. I am amazed that I have NO pain after the extraction. I have needed almost no pain meds.
I am so thankful to finally have that tooth out.
The best dental care I have ever experienced! Professional, courteous, and Burge always makes me feel like family… would highly recommend to anyone!!! Dr. Kuhns was very nice and informative. The hygienist was also kind and made me feel very comfortable yet she was very professional.
Came in for regular cleaning and was greeted by a very friendly front desk staff. My information was processed quickly and efficiently by all members of the front desk. I was then escorted to the room of my cleaning where I was greeted with a smile by Malia. I’ve been getting cleanings my whole life but Malia was one of the most cordial and proficient hygienists I’ve ever had. During my cleaning, she made sure I was comfortable and kept me informed throughout the entire process. Lastly, I met with the Dentist who was happy to tell me I had no cavities! 10/10 recommend this office to anyone and everyone. All Smiles Over Here!

Flossing prevents gingivitis, or gum disease, by preventing the build-up of plaque on and between your teeth. The long-term effects of allowing bacteria to grow are serious and can range from cavities to gum disease and eventually lost teeth and bone loss.
